This Simply be tween top has been sitting in my closet for about a month now. I love the distinctive white collar and boxy structure and knew I needed to finally wear it out. I received this MYNT 1792 peplum skirt from Madison Plus last week and the two paired perfectly! I threw on with my Forever 21 varsity jacket to dress the look down a bit. I also decided to offset the monochromatic pallet by spicing the look up with these awesome leopard print pointed toe booties from ASOS.

If you haven’t jumped on the midi skirt bandwagon yet, now is definitely the time to do so. I first tried out this look over the summer, and I am definitely revisiting the trend for winter. Midi-length skirts can hit anywhere from right below the knee to just above the ankle, and range from ultra-snug to '50s-style fit-and-flares. Not only is the skirt a chic alternative to the mini, but the longer length aids in keeping you shielded from the harsh winter cold. To make the trend work for a plus size frame, be sure to wear a more form-fitting top if the skirt has a flowing shape. I paired with a crop vintage knit sweater, bold ASOS curve necklace and pop of color pointed heels.

I am excited to say that I just took part in a holiday styling competition with Simply Be. They asked different bloggers to choose SB items that they would wear to a holiday party from their site. Below are what I choose! ( this mermaid sequin dress is everything!!)
For the contest Simply Be will be tallying how many likes the photo of my outfit gets on their instagram (@simplybeusa) and on their Facebook page ( check it out HERE). The blogger with the most likes has the opportunity to gift 3 of their followers with amazing swag ..possibly even this exact same outfit!!
Be sure to check out their facebook and instagram and if you love my outfit "like" the photos so we have a chance to win.
I absolutely love the look of a luxe fur coat! Faux fur is not only a humane but less expensive way to get the luxurious look. I found the above jacket at UK plus size retailer Simply Be ( similar style available) and LOVE the texture and warmth it provides on these frost winter days. Fur is a constant street style favorite and I have been on the hunt for the perfect plus size options for a while now. A common misconception is that plus size women shouldn’t wear fur coats as they add too much bulk. The trick is to find an option that has a hem which hits mid-thigh or above, has a snug fit, and does not have overly thick fur. Bonus: these coats look great for any occasion, whether it be dressed down with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a plaid or thrown over a glitzy holiday dress.
I totally forgot I had a few shots taken in my outfit for the second day of Lucky FABB last month. I am wearing a vintage tweed jacket and random mens neon hunting top while thrifting. I love adding a pop of neon in the fall to stand out in the drab weather ( even though finding neon to BUY in the fall is nearly impossible!). I paired with a matt sequin Joe Fresh skirt that is cotton lined and super comfortable. When walking the streets of NYC black ankle booties are definitely my go to and these ones from Modcloth are perfect.
I have been an avid fan of the shoe brand Yosi Samra for a few years now. They are always my go to flat and come in every fashionable print and shade you can imagine. Now to the exciting part. I will be giving away a pair of the "Samara" classic ballet foldable flats on the blog Dec. 2nd !
